Imagenheart is very excited to announce that Sabrina Linder is the designer within the Spelonk film and series. She is has won various awards as fashion designer including Foschini design award. Below follows a word from Sabrina about involvement with Spelonk
Spelonk has been such an incredible inspiration to my work as it comments on issues that are very close to my heart, such as globalisation and the depletion of our natural resource. I have found it highly fascinating taking a sneak peak into the looking glass of what could very well be the future of South Africa and the world.
Whats most exciting about working on Spelonk is the opportunity to visually shape a new world through conceptual design and wardrobe, to work with no creative restraints allowing my mind to expand and explore new highs of mental stimulation. To be able to create elaborate costume designed pieces that each tells a story of their own.
We are excited to have Ebrahim Mallum as the sound designer for the film/ series Spelonk
Mr. Mallum is one of the freshest producers to come out of SA, having started his musical career in 1995 producing jingles for some of the country’s leading radio stations. Far from a newcomer to the music scene, he has produced for many of South Africa’s most recognised artists such as Loyiso (including the theme song to the animated movie Khumba), Danny K, Gang of Instrumentals, Auriol Hays, Chad Saaiman and Black Noise, to name a few. A number of these productions have won and been nominated for Metro FM and SAMA awards. Mr. Mallum has produced music for advertisements (local and international), TV show events (including the Channel O Awards), as well as scoring for documentaries.
Below a word from Mr Mallum about Spelonk
We at the Imagenheart team truly take pride in having a team of professionals on our side. And with this we have found a gem- Rudolph Faurie. With a vast range of experience from the business side of planning a project to on screen. Having Rudi on the team brings a sense of wholeness to productions.
A word from Rudolph below
I have a great passion for film, television and stage. I am a professionally trained Actor, Mime artist, Dancer and Stunt performer. I have basic training in various martial arts, and have received Special Weapons and Tactics training. I have been working as an artist within all my various fields since 2000. I have had the opportunity to create my own productions, and also help bring other productions to life. Even as a child we used to try and make our own movies. I love being in front of camera, but I enjoy working behind the scenes just as much! Seeing that I am used to working with my hands, I have also had the opportunity to run the props department for the stage production: The Good News. I aim to be a versatile actor, even doing my own stunts. I live to create!
EXCITED TO PARTNER WITH GLOBADENT
We are very excited to have Hugo Coetzee from Globadent dental involved. They have done the incredible job of creating the teeth for the invictus film to match the teeth of Mandela.
For spelonk they are bringing an ancient fable to life.
Word from Hugo:
"Everything around us changes all the time. There are so many variables that influence our daily lives, some that we can control but many we have to accept. This is what excites us about Spelonk. We are taken to a time where everyone and everything we know will be completely different, yet we can recognise ourselves and things as we know it today, in it.
Life is a great adventure and Spelonk inspires us to make the most of our lives, appreciate what we have and to be there for the people around us
We are an innovative & creative team at Globadent Dental Laboratory. We are excited to share the latest technology and materials available in dentistry and to be part of Spelonk
It is a great pleasure for us to work with the amazing team of Spelonk, especially Desmond Denton.
The journey of a man who faced death and rose beyond all expectations.
Once I personally heard about this incredible story where a man had been ridden over by a 7 ton truck and survived, it immediately irked my interest. It sounded surreal, yet it was true and undoubtedly I wanted to learn more about the strength and the story of Barend Liebenberg. Desmond Denton, an incredible award-winning Director, put a small team together to join both himself and an awaiting team in Porterville to film this incredible journey of a man that many people would be in awe of- to witness such strong character, hope and belief for a brighter day.
Desmond Denton, Megan Culligan and myself Mandy Kotzé set out toward Porterville on Friday the 4th of September admiring the beauty the Cape had to offer along the way. We spent our time reviewing Barend’s incredible journey and discussing the weekend ahead of us. As we arrived to the quaint town of Porterville we were met with Barend’s sweetly natured wife who showed us to our sleeping chambers and shortly after, we spent the night planning the weekend’s schedule. Barend, his wife and their dedicated team showed an excitement and optimism that was infectious and it was easily going to be a memorable shoot
